Looking for something fun to do with your kid(s)?! You have come to the right post! I am always  looking for new local events and attractions going on to enjoy with my Bonus Nephew! On a gorgeous summer night, we decided to treat ourselves to a fun night in Irvine! First stop? DESSERT!

Churned Creamery
The District in Tustin, CA

I have had my eyes on trying this special treat for some time now. I mean, just check out their Instagram for yourself (drooling). I tried their croissant with a scoop of espresso churned ice cream topped with cereal & almonds. He had vanilla churned ice cream topped with white chocolate drizzle, marshmallows and gummy bears. In his words "I made the best dessert ever, sooooo good!"

Great Park - Carousel

Next stop was the Great Park in Irvine! There is a carousel there and you can ride it once for $2 or unlimited for $3. You must go to the Visitor's Center to purchase all tickets for carousel and balloon. That's when we found out there would be 1 1/2 hour wait for balloon due to wind conditions. They'll give you a pager and when it vibrates, you go back to the visitor center to pay for your balloon tickets. They make you pay  after your pager goes off in case they have to cancel flights for the night.

Right next to this is the Kid Rock playground...he had so much fun playing with the other kids and watching the Great Balloon go up and down (while we waited for the Movie on the Lawn to start).

Great Park - Movie on the Lawn

I look forward to outdoor movie nights during the summer. On Saturday nights, the Great Park has Movies on the Lawn, view the schedule here. We bought some popcorn (they were selling popcorn, candy, soda, coffee & hot chocolate) and watched The Peanuts Movie around dusk (8:15pm).

Food Trucks for Dinner

We shared the "In Da Club" savory crepe from Crepes Bonaparte. It was definitely a hit! The only photo I had was on my Snapchat and I forgot to save it...rookie mistake!

At last, our pager went off and it was time to take flight on this helium powered balloon. We got a great view of the city lights (although catching the sunset would have been nice too) and his words while we were all the way up were "I can't believe my eyes!" Talk about a successful summer night with my bonus nephew! These are moments I cherish forever :)

Let me know if you enjoy a night like this one (Dessert, Carousel Rides, Playground, Movie on the Lawn, Dinner &  Helium Balloon Ride). Did I mention this was all done in about 3-4 hours?! So fun!
