Coffee Corner // Philz Coffee (Huntington Beach, CA)

It's time to introduce you to another coffee shop gem in the OC!

Welcome to Philz Coffee!
Located at Pacific City in Huntington Beach.

First off, Pacific City is this new outdoor mall in Huntington Beach off PCH. There are cute restaurants with ocean views and it's just a block away from Main Street and the Pier. There is some street meter parking but for the sake of squeezing in as much time with my bestie (who just moved back to the OC from San Diego - thank goodness!!), we parked in the underground structure and geeze parking can get expensive!! Phil Jaber went on a quest 25 years ago to make a really great cup of coffee. He wanted to create a blend that was flavorful, complex, rich, smooth, and low in acidity. His quest took him all over the world and after visiting thousands of coffee shops, Phil created over 30 unique blends. Phil wanted to make sure the coffee making process embodied a personal and social feel, so he designed his own coffee station allowing for every cup to be crafted one cup at a time. By personalizing each cup, Phil had found a way to allow for individuality in every cup of love.

The barista was so kind and offered suggestions based off what we usually drink, etc. Each cup of coffee is made fresh in their pour-over station. My friend had a hot drink, Silken Splendor (Dark Cocoa, Nuts, Butter). I had a cold drink, Philtered Soul (Hazelnut, Cocoa, Syrup) with the tiniest splash of cream and I really could done without it because the coffee was so flavorful and good on it's own! I have been dreaming of this coffee ever since lol

They do have some indoor and outdoor seating, we chose to stay inside since it was a little chilly that night...especially by the coast. I have to give them an A+++++ for playing the best jams! I'm not kidding, every time a song came on my friend and I would look at each other like "are you kidding me, throwback to (insert memory here lol)!" I finally got up and asked the Cashier what station they had on and he said Pandora 2000s R&B! I knew it! I felt like I was just at home relaxing - spending time with my bestie, good music but even better coffee!

The coffee and ambiance was so good that my friend and I didn't even complete the trip we were planning and may I add the purpose of this coffee date haha! I think this is just another reason to go back and "finish planning trip" a.k.a. listen to 2000s R&B and drink yummy coffee!
